Increasingly we have noticed that the labs that are accredited Calibration Scope are getting in to material testing area and vice-verse. Thus we are able to see a larger interest and need in the organisation that are providing Calibration as well as Material Testing service. It makes sense as customers are often the common for Calibration and testing.
It is beneficial to customers as well since they are in engagement with the once laboratory for any one stream would like these to be engaged for another stream of work as well. In order to service this special class of laboratories, we have integrated the Calibration and Testing LIMS module with the common CRM software. Advantages of this approach are many felt by customers
– Labs have common customer master and same engagement principle with all customers
– Labs have common commercial process of invoicing and contractual condition for both stream of work
– Labs have a single point of view for both the services
– Customers have a single point of view for all the services they have received through Customer Portal
– Users of Calibration and Testing Labs have same user interface thus same operating experience
While there are advantages of common interest, a separate set of MIS is also essential to analyse how much business have come from each of the stream and customer portion in each of the business streams.
Cost of implementation and return on investment improves as much as there are components that would not be require separate customisation, Resources from one streams can be allocated to other stream without extra training in case of sudden peaks or surge in any one of the business stream.
